DirecTV, KXJB reach agreement to end blackout prior to NDSU's basketball gameLocal CBS affiliate KXJB and service provider DirecTV reached a deal Thursday night to end a blackout that extended more than two months.
The deal allows DirecTV customers to watch today’s North Dakota State University men’s basketball game against Kansas.
KXJB General Manager Charley Johnson announced the agreement Thursday night.
“I’m particularly happy that we were able to get it restored in time for that Bison basketball game,” Johnson told The Forum. “There was intense negotiating this week … with that goal in mind.”
Johnson said the sides agreed to a multiyear deal, although terms of the contract weren’t disclosed.
DirecTV plans to begin broadcasting KXJB’s signal at 8 a.m. today, ending a blackout on the service provider since Jan. 8.
Tipoff for the Bison game against Kansas is 11:30 a.m.
