California man stranded for 14 hours on highway near Valley CityVALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) — Authorities says a California man was rescued after being stranded 14-hours in a blizzard along Interstate 94 near Valley City.
Barnes County Sheriff Gene Bjerke says the man was found unharmed on Wednesday. The sheriff says the man did the right thing by staying in his vehicle until help arrived.
Bjerke says six semis were stuck on Highway 46 near Litchville during the storm this week in Barnes County.
Dickey County Sheriff Jim Bohannon says one semi was stranded after it got stuck on Highway 11 east of Ellendale on Tuesday.
The sheriffs say no injuries have been reported in either county from the storm.
