GF man killed in I-29 rollover ID’dThe 24-year-old Grand Forks man killed after his vehicle rolled over along Interstate 29 between Fargo and Grand Forks on Friday has been identified as Patrick E. Welsh.
According to a North Dakota Highway Patrol news release: Welsh was driving northbound in his 2009 Toyota Scion when it appears he drifted off the lane and onto the rumble strips on the median side.
He overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle, sliding sideways across the driving lane before rolling his vehicle into the ditch.
Welsh was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Welsh’s passenger, Kelly Keomany of Warroad, Minn., was transported to MeritCare Hospital in Fargo with nonlife-threatening injuries. Keomany was wearing a seat belt and remained in the vehicle.
