Man killed, woman hurt in I-29 rolloverA 24-year-old man was killed and a 19-year-old woman was injured Friday afternoon in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 29 north of Fargo, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
A northbound 2009 Toyota Scion was in the passing lane at mile marker 82 when it drifted out of the lane and hit the rumble strips on the median side of the road, a news release stated.
The car then slid across the road and entered the east ditch, where it rolled several times.
The male driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time and was ejected from the car. He died at the scene and was listed in the release as a Grand Forks, N.D., resident.
The female passenger, a Warroad, Minn., resident, was wearing a seat belt. She was transported to MeritCare Hospital in Fargo and treated for nonlife-threatening injuries.
Names of the victims were withheld Friday pending notification of relatives.
The road conditions were dry at the time.
