Jamestown Hospital has buyer who wants to turn it into senior housing

JAMESTOWN, N.D. -- Lutheran Social Services Housing of North Dakota is buying the Jamestown Hospital with plans to remodel the building for senior housing and community uses.

Jamestown Hospital officials are planning to start construction on a new facility this fall, outside of the city.

Hospital President Marty Richman says the proposal from LSS Housing for the existing downtown building will give it a viable future.

Jessica Thomasson, the director of Fargo-based LSS Housing, says the Jamestown project will be the organization's first in North Dakota.
