Superintendent says Red Lake student caught trying to bring concealed gun onto school bus

WCCO is reporting today that a bus driver found a concealed weapon on a Red Lake Elementary School student Friday morning.

WCCO, attributing Superintendent Brent Gish, reports that Gish said the transportation director for the Red Lake School District was driving a bus, picking up elementary-aged students Friday morning when he noticed a boy with an unusual posture getting on the bus.

The driver investigated and discovered a concealed weapon on the student. The driver removed the weapon and then removed the student from the bus before calling authorities, Gish said.

The incident happened at the bus stop near the student's house. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

Gish didn't know if the boy was arrested or his exact age.
