Weekend Watch: Saving Abel

With guitarist Jason Null fresh out of jail, accused by Oakland police of forcing a 17-year-old girl into what’s legally called oral copulation, Saving Abel will face an awkward dilemma in its concert at The Venue at The Hub. The biggest hit from the one album the cut-and-paste post-grunge band has under its belt is “Addicted,” which has explicit recurring references to a bedroom deed the band surely would rather avoid mentioning in light of the arrest. Since it’s the smash single, one of the two songs the bulk of the crowd will know, it pretty much has to be on the set list. This is why rock stars can’t get arrested until they’ve been around long enough to have enough songs to make set list choices. Tickets for the all-ages show at 6 p.m. are $19, plus fees.
