Fargo Taco Bell robbed at gunpoint

FARGO – Police say two men wearing stocking caps and bandanas stole a large amount of cash from the Taco Bell in downtown Fargo early today.

The men entered the restaurant at 1001 1st Ave. N. at about 1:30 a.m., Sgt. Jason Nelson said.

One of the men displayed a gun and demanded all of the money in the store, he said.

The female working the till didn’t have access to the safe, but another employee did, Nelson said. The two men took an unknown amount of cash from the till and safe and fled on foot northwest from the restaurant, he said.

Officers were called to the restaurant at 1:40 a.m. and used a K-9 unit to track the men to a location about half a block away, where police believe the men got into a vehicle, Nelson said.

The men were described as wearing stocking caps, ban-danas and dark clothing and possibly being in their late teens or early 20s, he said.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and saw a vehicle that looked suspicious or was leaving at a high rate of speed is asked to call Fargo police investigations at (701) 241-1405.
