Man accused of pulling gun on driver

Cass County prosecutors have charged a 40-year-old West Fargo man with felony terrorizing after police received a report that the man had pulled his gun and pointed it at a cab driver.

Authorities initially got a call at 1:05 a.m. from a person who believed that Paul William Ahonen, 3240 9th St. N., had a handgun, court documents state.

At 1:28 a.m., officers were called to Speck’s Bar at 2611 Main Ave. to check on a cab driver who reported that a man had pointed a gun at him. Officers arrived on scene, located the cab driver and took Ahonen into custody, Sgt. Ross Renner said.

Ahonen gave police multiple variations of what happened and said he pulled his gun twice to protect himself, court documents state.

Ahonen made an initial appearance on the charge Monday afternoon, at which time bail was set at $2,500 bond or $250 cash. Ahonen has been ordered to have no contact with the cab driver.
