Woman sentenced for thefts while cleaning

A 28-year-old woman has been sentenced to serve 60 days in jail after stealing more than $10,000 worth of jewelry and other items while cleaning houses.

Allison Dawn Gregory, 731 5th St. N., Casselton, N.D., pleaded guilty Monday in Cass County District Court to a felony theft charge for the summer incidents.

“Miss Gregory succumbed to temptation,” her attorney Joe Johnson told East Central Judicial District Judge Steven Marquart.

Marquart sentenced Gregory, who now manages a Quiznos, to two years, first to serve 60 days. The remaining time will be suspended while Gregory serves two years of supervised probation.

Gregory stole more than $10,000 in jewelry and other items while cleaning houses last summer while working as a housekeeper for Accent. Most of the items were recovered at local pawn shops, court documents state.

Restitution in the case has been left open.
