One fair ticket will get you in to shows

If you attend one of the grandstand entertainment performances at the 2009 Red River Valley Fair, you won’t have to buy a separate concert ticket to get in.

Fair Manager Bryan Schulz says they’re trying something new this year.

They’ll charge a gate fee to get in the fairgrounds. Once you’re in, you’ll be able to attend the concerts without having to buy a separate ticket.

Schulz says they plan seven nights of concerts at this year’s fair.

He says that could attract some big crowds to the grandstand but he’s not worried about running out of room.

Schulz says a few bands have already been booked and the full lineup will probably be announced in April.

The Internet site Pollstar indicates one of the bands that’s been booked is the classic rock act Survivor – known for it’s “Rocky” movie hit song “Eye of the Tiger.”

Schulz says the gate admission has not been finalized yet, but they’re considering $7 for adults and $5 for kids.

This year’s fair runs July 10-18.
