Fargo police to host drug abuse workshopThe Fargo Police Department will host “notMykid,” a substance abuse prevention workshop, at 6:40 p.m. Jan. 7 at Shanley High School, 5600 25th St. S., Fargo.
The workshop is free and for adults only; students may not attend.
Those attending will learn about drug trends, terminology and paraphernalia, and also will learn tips about talking to children about drugs. Each family will create a custom drug prevention plan and will receive a “First Check” home drug test kit that tests for seven illicit and five prescription drugs.
The notMYkid program is available for free and partners with schools, community groups and police departments across the country to educate parents about drug issues.
