Juveniles detained after Holiday robberyFargo police detained two 17-year-olds after a Holiday station clerk reported that two people jumped the counter, struck him in the head and stole cigarettes from the store, police said.
The robbery was reported at 3:27 a.m. Monday at the store at 101 N. University Drive.
The suspects rushed the clerk, knocked him to the floor, grabbed several packs of cigarettes and ran out of the store, Sgt. Jeff Skuza said in a news release.
The clerk wasn’t injured. The suspects were described as wearing masks.
Officers tracked the suspects in the snow to a nearby apartment at 19 N. University Drive. The juveniles were detained about 4 a.m., Sgt. Julie Hinkel said.
Police seized six packs of cigarettes and two Halloween masks as evidence.
A 17-year-old Fargo boy was released to his parents, and a 17-year-old boy from Hines, Minn., was taken to the Cass County Juvenile Detention Center, the release stated. Both were referred to juvenile court on suspicion of robbery and possession of stolen property.
