Bail set at $10K for West Fargo man arrested in Richland County in connection with $100K in stolen property

Bail has been set at $10,000 cash only for a 41-year-old West Fargo man arrested Tuesday in connection with stolen property believed to be worth more than $100,000.

Petr Spacek, 41, is currently being held at the Richland County Jail awaiting charges, according to Investigator Josh Beto with the county’s sheriff’s department.

Beto said Spacek has not yet made an appearance, but the bail amount was set Tuesday to keep him in custody.

Spacek was arrested after an individual responded to a $2,000 reward from Heitkamp Construction Company Co., according to a Richland County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The individual led authorities to stolen utility equipment and other items located on two different farmsteads west of Colfax, N.D., Beto said.

Law enforcement from Richland and Cass counties along with Fargo and West Fargo police are in the process of recovering the stolen property and returning it, the release said.

Beto said authorities did not initially release Spacek’s name out of concern that individuals he may have been working with might try and recover the property before law enforcement.
