Fargo Film Festival's 2008

FARGO - "The Children of Leningradsky" by Polish filmmakers Hanna Polak and Andrzej Celinski earned best of show honors at this year's Fargo Film Festival, organizers announced today.

The documentary explores the plight of homeless children living in and around a Moscow train station.

"I am very happy and honored," said Polak, who was on hand for the announcement. "It's wonderful."

Polak and Celinski also took the festival's best director honors.

Festival organizers also announced the following awards:

- Best actor: Kurtwood Smith, "Hard Scrambled"

- Best actress: Tanna Frederick, "Hollywood Dreams"

- Best cinematography: Matthew Heckerling, "Hard Scrambled"

- Best screenplay: Greg Chwerchak and Gabrielle Berberich, "Greetings from the Shore"
