Two local businesses fail February alcohol compliance checksTwo local businesses failed alcohol compliance checks in February, including one that also failed in December. Failing a check means the business sold acohol to a person under 21 years of age.
Overall, 45 establishments were checked in Fargo and Clay County, with 38 Fargo businesses and five Clay County establishments pass-ing the checks conducted last Friday, according to a news release.
Failing were Bernie’s Wine and Liquors, 1557 University Dr. S. Fargo, and Oasis Con-venience Store, 209 Wall Street Ave. N. near Moorhead, the release said.
Oasis also failed in Decem-ber 2007, making Friday’s failure the business’ fifth since 2004, according to Robyn Litke, coordinator for the Safe Communities Coalition, which helps operate the com-pliance checks.
Bernie’s last failure was in July 2007, according to com-pliance statistics.
