Man, 28, charged for pellet gun incident at NDSU downtown

Prosecutors have charged a 28-year-old Moorhead man with Class A misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon in connection with a security incident at North Dakota State University’s downtown campus Tuesday.

Vincent Degidio Jr., 3500 8th Ave. S., is accused of possessing a black pellet gun that was not visible by ordinary observation of a passerby, according to Cass County District Court documents.

A custodian found Degidio in the bathroom of the former Northern School Supply building with the gun Tuesday morning and called 911. Degidio was arrested a few blocks away and asked during his arrest, “Is this about the gun,” court documents say.

NDSU secured the building so it could only be accessed with key cards and canceled classes in the building for the day.

Degidio is currently being held at the Cass County Jail and is expected to appear Thursday morning on the misdemeanor charge, which is punishable by up to one year in jail and/or a $2,000 fine.
