Fargo man busted with cocaine, cash

The Red River Valley SWAT Team seized 3.5 pounds of cocaine and $33,000 in cash from a Fargo residence this morning while executing a search warrant.

Dustin Jacob Fortier, 21, was arrested at his residence at 1521 27th Ave. S., Unit 108, on suspicion of controlled substance violations, Moorhead Police Lt. Shannon Monroe said in a news release.

The cocaine has an estimated street value of nearly $200,000. The SWAT team also seized 4 ounces of marijuana and a 9 mm handgun, the news release said.

The investigation began with a traffic stop in Moorhead. Moorhead narcotics detectives worked with a West Fargo investigator assigned to the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigations’ Narcotics Task Force on the investigation, which led to Fortier’s apartment, the news release stated.

Fortier is being held in the Cass County Jail pending a court appearance.
