Moe Gibbs pleads guilty to 2004 rape of Fargo woman
His sentencing in Cass County District Court is set for 10 a.m. Dec. 20. Assistant State’s Attorney Gary Delorme said his office will recommend a 20-year sentence, of which Gibbs would serve 12 years and be placed on probation for the remaining eight years.
Gibbs’ attorney, Ross Brandborg, said after the hearing that Gibbs pleaded guilty because he believes it’s best for his family and everyone involved.
The state will recommend the sentence run concurrent with any sentence Gibbs may receive for pending charges in Barnes County, N.D.
There, Gibbs faces several felony charges stemming from accusations that he sexually assaulted five female inmates while working at the Barnes County Jail in Valley City.
Earlier this month, a jury in Bismarck convicted Gibbs of murdering Valley City State University student Mindy Morgenstern in September 2006. Moe Gibbs pleads guilty to 2004 rape of Fargo woman Dave Olson 20071126
