Teen faces charges for Fargo sister's death

A 15-year-old Fargo boy will be charged with murder in adult court in the death of his sister, a prosecutor said today.

Sergei Isaac Carlson will also face a charge of committing a deviant sexual act post mortem, Assistant Cass County State’s Attorney Tracy Peters said in a press conference following a hearing on the case.

The move to adult court has been agreed to by Carlson’s legal counsel, Peters said.

Carlson was arrested in July, two days after his mother found his sister, Whitney Carlson, 16, unconscious and not breathing in the family’s home.

An autopsy determined the girl’s death was a homicide caused by asphyxiation.
