Kucinich plans visit to Fargo

Presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich will be in Fargo on Wednesday, a campaign spokeswoman confirmed Monday.

The Ohio congressman will have a meet-and-greet fundraising breakfast from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Hotel Donaldson, 101 Broadway.

Those in attendance will be able to ask questions about his presidential campaign.

Following the breakfast, Kucinich will go on “The Ed Schultz Show” on KFGO 790 AM from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to take questions from callers.

“I know Dennis is so looking forward to this. He wanted to make a stop in Fargo to do this,” said spokeswoman Sharon Manitta.

Kucinich, 60, labels himself as a “champion of working families,” according to his campaign Web site.

He will “lead America into expanding opportunities, universal health care, restore our schools and strengthen Social Security and protections for private pensions.”

Kucinich, a Democrat, also was a candidate during the 2004 presidential election.

The North Dakota Democratic-NPL Party recommends RSVPing for the Fargo fundraising breakfast by contacting Vern Thompson at (701) 400-6767 or vern@edschultzshow.com.
